Elmer Thomas Leeseberg, 70, of Mikado, died suddenly at home on July 14, 2011. He was born April 28, 1941 in Ossineke to Florence (DeRosia) and the late Henry Leeseberg. On January 18, 1964, he married Sharon Douville at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Harrisville. They shared 47 years together. Elmer worked for General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1993 when they moved from Clarkston to Mikado. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball, NASCAR, collecting glassware and sports memorabilia. A member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Glennie, he was active in church leadership, bible study and church functions. Surviving are his wife; Sharon, one daughter; Linda Wilson of Lapeer, three sons; Thomas of Lawrenceville GA, James (Beckie) of Mikado, and Glen (Melissa) Leeseberg of Greenbush, eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild, his mother; Florence LaForge of Harrisville, six sisters; Ruth (Harold) Truman, Janice (Peter) Frackey, Sharon Ginder, Karen (Ed) Johnson, Debbie (Mike) Gozdor, and Sandy Lucas, five brothers; Henry (Judy), Don (Marian), Warren (Gail), Everett, and Gary (Cindy) Leeseberg, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Henry in 1980. Mr. Leeseberg is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where visitation will be on Sunday, July 17 from 10 am until the funeral service at 1pm. Pastor Bill Cowdin will officiate. Burial will be in Glennie Cemetery.
