Lawrence G. Stoyke, 77, of Harrisville died Friday June 8, 2007 at home. He was born Feb.20, 1930 in Chetek Wisconsin to Alfred and Greselda (Turskey) Stoyke. Raised in Chetek, Larry joined the Army and later the Air Force where he served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, retiring after 20 years. He married Georgina Elmer on August 3, 1951. Making his home in Harrisville, Larry was stationed in Oscoda, England, Nebraska, Greenland, Jamaica, Trinidad, Indiana and Texas throughout his Air Force career. He was employed by Abitibi of Alpena, retiring after 20 years. He was a former Harrisville Goodfellow, and a former member of the free and accepted masons. Survivors include his wife, and two daughters, Viki (Kenneth) Schram of Gaylord, Debbie Small of Vienna, Flordia; three sons, Randy (Shelia Feller) Stoyke of Harrisville, Rick (Crystal) Stoyke and Ron (Cheryl) Stoyke both of Lafayette, Indiana, 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and a sister Phyllis (Lee) Erickson of Bloomer, Wisconsin. Arrangements for cremation have been made through Gillies funeral Home, Lincoln. His cremated ashes will be interred at West lawn Cemetery with full military honors at a later date.
