Thelma E. Adair, 96, of Harrisville, died Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Jamieson Nursing Home in Harrisville. She was born on September 18, 1914 in Lincoln, Michigan to Charles and Emma (Schram) Clayton. She married Gilbert Adair on June 14, 1951, in Bowling Green, Ohio. He preceded her in death on February 19, 1983. Thelma was raised in Lincoln, and taught school in local country schools. For many years was employed as a receptionist by the Henry Ford Hospital of Detroit and moved to Harrisville from the Detroit Area with her husband in 1966. She is survived by 3 nephews: Gary Clayton of Mikado, Dale Clayton of Oak Harbor, Washington, and Wayne Clayton of Brighton, 1 niece; Carol Clayton of Oak Harbor, Washington, 10 grand nieces and nephews, 4 great-grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Woodford, Fred and Martin Clayton. Mrs. Adair is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where visitation will take place on Sunday from 2 until 8 pm. Visitation will continue on Monday from 11 am until the funeral service at 1 pm. Rev. David Austin will officiate. Burial will be in Twin Lakes Cemetery, Lincoln.
