Andrew Matthew Thompson, 19, of Black River, died Monday, May 28, 2007 at home. Andy was born on January 12, 1988 in Alpena. He lived in Harrisville and moved to Black River when he was six years old. Andy was a high school graduate and had a generous, helpful nature. He loved hunting, camping, and just being in the woods. He also enjoyed motorcycling and four wheeling. Andy was a member of the Alcona Volunteer Fire Department and also a Medical First Responder for Alcona Township. Andy is survived by his parents, Pamela (Cathy) Wilson and Irwin “Hank” Thompson; one sister, Erika (Tony) Vulcano of Sterling Heights; two brothers, Keith of Oscoda and Guy (Sam) Thompson and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be Thursday, May 31, 2007 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. The funeral will be held Friday, 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home, with burial following at Mt. Joy Cemetery of Haynes Township. Memorials may by given to the American Cancer Society or the Alcona Fire Department.
