Gaylen D. Dafoe, 76, of Glennie, died May 25, 2007 at home. Gaylen was born August 7, 1930 in Glennie to Floyd and Rita (Schoolcraft) Dafoe. A lifelong resident of Glennie, Gaylen married Ethel Winn on December 24, 1948. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trapping. Gaylen loved snowmobiling and helped develop and groom snowmobile trails in Alcona County. He served as secretary for t Alcona Parks & Recreation and was a long time member of the Gleenie Lions. Gaylen, is survived by his wife, Ethel; four sons Rick (Sharon) of Harrisville, Darryl (Kathy), Dan and Mike of Glennie, four daughters; Susan (Richard) Stewart of Warren, Shelley (Tim) Ritter of Clio, Gaylene Dolliver and Barb Spanding of Glennie; two sisters, Aleta Beck of Taylor and Arvena (Dale) Emerson of Oregon; 15 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Funeral was held Monday, May 27, 2007 , 11:00 A.M. at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln with Rev. Brenda Klacking officiating. Burial will be in Glennie Cemetery.
