Clara Ella Ross-Thornton

Clara Ella Ross Thornton, 85, of Lincoln, formerly of Barton City died Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Lincoln Haven Health and Rehab Community. She was born Aug.18, 1925 in Bay City, was raised there and Barton City. On Nov.9 1946 she married Pete Ross, he preceded her in death on May 9, 1975. On June 22, 1991 she married Calvin Thornton, he preceded in death on August 22, 1993. Ella lived most of her life in Barton City and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Barton City. She is survived by four sons, Fred (Janet)Ross of Barton City, Russell (Orvilla) Ross of Oklahoma City, OK, Mark Ross of Wayne MI, and Ron (Mariann) Ross of Clinton Twp.,MI, ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, six sisters, Betty Argyle of Bay City, Helen Bauer of Reese, Pearl Bellhorn of Bay City, Connie Dolney of Linwood, Julia Nashatka of Bay City and Mary Coseo of Florida, two brothers, Carl Badenhoop of Garden City and Henry Badenhoop of Sacramento CA. Two sisters,Mildred Miks and Margaret Emerson and three grandchildren preceded her in death. Visitation is Saturday from 2-8 P.M. at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, and the funeral will be Sunday at the funeral home at 2:00 P.M., Rev. Christina Bright officiating. Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery,Barton City. Memorials suggested to the Alcona Cancer Society.
