Edgar B. Havercroft, 85, of Greenbush, died Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at his home. He was born October 1, 1921 to Blanchard and Louise (Schnaidt) Havercroft in Oakland, California. Raised in Greenbush, Ed served in the Coast Guard during WWII. In 1945 he married Lucille Marie Jennings in Flint. They were residents of Greenbush for many years moving to Hubbard Lake for several years, returning to Greenbush in 2001. Ed was employeed for many years by the Wurtsmith Air Force Base retiring as a commissary administrator. He was a member of the Alcona Lodge #292 Free and Accepted Masons, a former Shrine member and a 32 degree Mason. He is survived by his wife and three daughters, Trudie Root of Centerville, Virginia, Perrilee (Doug) Staples of Lawrence, Nancy (Neil) Hook of Roscommon, four sons, Frederick (Rose) of Fenton, Scott (Julie) and Timothy (Dawn) of Greenbush, Paul (Jill Slater) of Mikado, one brother, Don Havercroft of Alabama, fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Ed’s family will receive friends Thursday, May 10, 2007 beginning at 12 P.M. at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. There will be a Masonic service at the funeral home at 1:30 P.M. The memorial service will begin at 2:00 P.M., Rev. Thomas Welscott officiating. Cremation arrangements have been made. His ashes will be interred in Springport Cemetery, Harrisville.
