Catherine M. (Nemeskal) Davis, 98, of Spruce, passed away Monday, April 4, 2011 at Maple Grove Adult Foster Care in Barton City. Catherine was born in Maple City, MI on October 6, 1912, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Yankee) Nemeskal. She moved to Flint, MI as a young child. She married Joseph Davis October 23, 1937. Mr. Davis preceded her in death on November 17, 1979. Catherine was employed by AC Spark Plug in Flint, MI, retiring in 1974 after 38 years. She moved to Spruce MI in 1974, and was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church. Catherine was a loving wife and wonderful homemaker. She was an avid sports fan, enjoyed a good joke, and loved discussing politics. Catherine leaves to cherish her memory sister-in-law; Joyce Nemeskal, nieces and nephews; Gary (Jane) Somers, Jack (Connie) Somers, Cheryl (Mike) Wildfong, David Crider, Donna Nutt, Karen (Donald) Schena, JoAnn Gierke, Thomas (Penny) Nemeskal, Margaret Patterson, and Joseph (Della) Nemeskal, many great nieces and nephews, and very special friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers; Donald, William, and Charles Nemeskal, and sisters; Josephine Crider and Margaret Somers. The family would like to thank Nancy Jagelewski, and her family, for their kindness and loving care. Mrs. Davis is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln where visitation will take place on Thursday, April 7 from 5 until 8:30 pm with a Parish Prayer Service at 7 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, April 8 at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Ossineke from 10 am until the funeral mass at 11 am. Rev. Robert Bissot will officiate. Burial will be in Twin Lakes Cemetery, Lincoln, later in the spring. Memorial donations suggested to St. Catherine Catholic Church, Hospice of Michigan, Hubbard Lake South Shore Fire Department or a charity of choice.
