Loren S. Luther of Harrisville (Kilmaster), Michigan age 80, passed away Sunday, March 13,2011 at home. He was born on July 30, 1930 to Ora and Ida(Dunlap) Luther in Bad Axe, MI where he was raised. He enlisted in the US Army and served for 10 years. He married Betty Jean (Davis) on September 15, 1962 in West Branch. Loren and Betty lived in Port Huron from 1962 to 1975 then moved to Kilmaster (Mikado), Michigan. Loren worked for C&O Railroad in Port Huron and owned Kohn’s Store in Mikado for 18 years. He was a member of the Mikado American Legion Post 254 and Barton City Eagles Post 4141. He enjoyed spending to outdoors especially in his vegetable garden. He also loved to play pool and Euchre with his friends and family. He is survived by his wife Betty, daughter; Brenda Smith (fiancé Ed Wright), grandson; Luke Smith and Granddaughter; LeeAnn Smith all of Oscoda, one sister Vivian of Bad Axe, four sister-in-laws ,Violet Owens of Goodells and Dorothy Humphrey of Washington, Barb and Pat Davis, brother-in-law; Ray Davis of Port Huron, many nieces and nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father of Bad Axe, and 2 sons; Robert Luther and Ronald Luther of Port Huron. At the request of the family, cremation has taken place.
