Thomas M. Tivy

Thomas M. Tivy, age 75 of Harrisville died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at home. He was born June 13, 1935 in Detroit to Stanley Elton and Norma Jean (Mitchell) Tivy. He was raised in Detroit and married Barbara Jean Barry on September 4, 1954. He was a manufacturing engineer for Rockwell International. A Harrisville resident since 1996, he had lived in many cities with his family through the years. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Harrisville, Alcona Lodge # 292 Free and Accepted Masons, The Harrisville Lions, The Sunrise Side Woodcarvers of Oscoda and he enjoyed golf, fishing, and travel. He is survived by his wife Barbara and four daughters, Deborah (Dave)Gamache of Antioch, Illinois, Becky (Jeff) Monroe of Spruce, Nancy (Mark) Dalessandro of Troy and Donna (Scott) Noble of Troy, 11 grandchildren, Tim, Stephanie, and Thomas Gamache, Josh, J.J., Joanna, and Joel Monroe, Jennifer and Shane McCallion, Sarah and Kevin Noble and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his brother Stanley and one grandson. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. A memorial service will be announced in the future.
