James F. Woolmer Sr., 70, of Ossineke, died Saturday April 14, 2007 at his home. He was born February 6, 1937 to Edward and Beatrice (Smith)Woolmer in Mikado and he was raised there. He served in the Army from 1954 to 1956, and then moved to Mt. Pleasant where he attended Barber school. On March 8, 1960 Jim married Phyllis J. Fettes. They moved to Ossineke in 1962 and then to Haynes Township(Harrisville) in 1990. Phyllis preceded him in death on June 27, 2006. Jim recently moved to Ossineke. He worked at the State Street Barber Shop in Alpena for 45 years, retiring in March 2007. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed deer hunting. He is survived by two sons, Mike of Savannah, GA and Jim of California; three daughters, Linda Stepanski of Summerville, S.C., Cindy (Chuck) Kowalski of Presque Isle, and Twila Dant of Ossineke;ten grandchildren, one brother Richard (Alberta) of Albuquerque, N.M. and one sister Carol DeKett of Bonita Springs, FL. He was proceeded in death by a brother Robbie and a sister Twila. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00p.m.-8:00p.m. and Wednesday from 11:00a.m.until the funeral at 2:00p.m., Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. Burial will be in Mt. Joy Cemetery, Haynes Township. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Hospice of the Sunrise Shore.
