Annie Anderson

Annie C. Anderson, age 96, of 830 Ritchie Road, Lincoln, went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 29, 2011. She was born on August 8, 1914, to Bertha and John and Sharboneau at Fairbanks, Minnesota. When she was 1and a half years old, her family moved to Lincoln, and settled on a farm. She married George Anderson on June 10, 1937, at Harrisville Methodist Church. Annie started her career in teaching school in 1935 at Hawes School, a one room school house, which was the same school she attended as a child. She furthered her education by correspondence courses and night classes from 1937 to 1959 while continuing her teaching job. She took a few years off to start a family and then went back to teaching. She taught elementary, mostly 2nd and 3rd grades, in Lincoln for 32 years. She attended Lincoln Methodist Church and also participated in Singspiration, where she recited many poems by memory and told jokes. She had a hug and a kiss for everyone. Surviving are two sons; John (Gladys) Anderson and Gary (Betty) Anderson, one daughter; Charlotte (Don) Beaver, seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband George on October 28, 1989, two brothers; Fred and John Sharboneau, two sisters; Virginia Daggett and Bernice Somers, and one great grandchild; Jonathon Emington. Annie is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln where visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 from 2 until 8 pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, February 2, from 12:30 pm until the funeral service at 1:30 pm. Rev. Tracy Brooks will officiate. Burial will be in Twin Lakes Cemetery, in the spring.
