Wilbert “Bill” Kruttlin, 84, of Lincoln, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Lincoln Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. Born November 19, 1926 to Emil and Bertha (Jorai) Kruttlin in Curran, MI, he was raised there. Bill served in the United States Army during WWII, serving in Okinawa, Japan. On June 10, 1950, he married Virginia Labaza, and they were residents of Lincoln. Bill was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Harrisville, where he was active in the Knights of Columbus Alcona Council. An avid outdoorsman, Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife; Virginia, two daughters; Kathy (Gary) Skiba of Grand Rapids, and Joanne (Kevin) Michaud of Oscoda, one son John (Robbie) Kruttlin of Howell, six grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, and one brother; Ted (Kelly) Kruttlin of Harrisville. He was preceded in death by three sisters; Lucille Medor, Ethel Oles, and Ruth James, and three brothers; Emil C. Kruttlin II, Herman Kruttlin, and Emil C. Kruttlin III. Mr. Kruttlin is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where visitation will be on Friday, January 28 from 2 until 8 pm with a Rosary Service at 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 11 am at St. Anne Catholic Church in Harrisville. Burial will be in St. Anne Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
