Eugene P. Mahalak

Eugene P. Mahalak, 72, of Lincoln, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2011 at his home. Born August 24, 1938 to Vincent “William” and Honora (Joseph) Mahalak in Harrisville, he was a lifelong resident of the area. On May 28, 1960, he married Frances Grzeskowiak in Alpena, and they resided in Lincoln. Gene loved his garden, liked hunting and fishing, and especially enjoyed taking his “tour” around the area. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great granddaughter. He is survived by his wife; Frances, four sons; Eugene, Steven, William (Elke), and Phillip Mahalak, two grandchildren; Samona and Alex Mahalak, one great granddaughter; Sarina Mahalak, three brothers; Raymond (Geraldine), Louis (Rose), and David (Sharon) Mahalak, and three sisters; Margaret Trembath, Suzanne (Otis) O’Connor, and Constance Shaffer, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter; MiKayla Dunn-Mahalak, brother; Vincent Mahalak, sister-in-law; MaryAnn Mahalak, and two brothers-in-law; Pershing Trembath, and Larry Shaffer.
