Helen M. Caverly, 89, of Spruce died Saturday, March 31, 2007 in her own bed at home. Helen was born Feb. 23, 1918 in Pontiac to John L. and Madge (Parr) Fink. She was raised in Pontiac and Clarkston. On January 12, 1945 she married L.D.”Pete” Caverly in Milford, they were residents of Highland, moving to Spruce in 1959. Helen was a member of the Ossineke Methodist Church and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star. Her husband preceded her in death on June 11, 2001. Survivors include two sons, Lanny (Denise Sharp) Caverly of Hubbard Lake and Mike (Mary) Caverly of Spruce, Three grandchildren, Matthew (Ronda) Caverly, Stacey (Randy) Hollenbeck and Tanner (Lindsay) Caverly, two great grandchildren Nathan and Lucas Hollenbeck and a dear friend and constant companion, Maude Daniels. Two sisters, Thelma Sweet and Dorothy Dill preceded her in death. Mrs. Caverly is at Gillies Funeral home, Lincoln where visitation will be from 3-9 P.M. on Tuesday and where the funeral will be on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M., Rev. Steven Euper officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spruce.
